Turbonegro “I Got A Knife” Music Video

turb-01

I edited the video for “I Got A Knife” by Turbonegro, taken from their latest album ‘Sexual Harassment,’ produced by Matt Sweeney.

Here’s what director Andy Capper had to say:

I shot it at the Niagra Bar on 7th and A because the neon sign from the cover of the record hangs there.

That corner of New York is really significant in L.E.S hardcore / punk history and I guess it was sung about in “New York Crew” by Judge. That track is one of mine and Turbo lead singer’s Tony Sylvester’s favourite songs ever; I met Tony through hardcore about 20 years ago and we’ve been best friends ever since.

Director: Andy Capper
DP: Dan Meyer
Editor: Matthew Caron
Art attack: Nicholas Gazin
Styling: Annette Lamothe-Ramos

“M00N” is more or less a reflection upon internal struggles, both ongoing and resolved which caused me to doubt a lot of things I was doing from relationships to school and music. After venting on that track a lot of those insecurities dissolved into nothing and I felt free from a lot of the turmoil which was haunting me. – Haleek Maul

A$AP Rocky “Wassup” Music Video

I contributed some evil visual projections to A$AP Rocky’s “Wassup” video by Andy Capper, Jacob Burghart and A$AP Rocky himself.

Harlem rap sensation A.$.A.P Rocky just teamed up with global media sensation VICE after a chance meeting with Global Editor Andy Capper at the Vice office in Brooklyn. Rocky pitched a vision of a video to Andy which took elements from his five favorite movies, namely Scarface, Belly, Enter The Dragon, The Warriors and, of course, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

My music video for “Friend Crush” by Friends was featured on the premiere episode of WEIRD VIBES on MTV Hive. Weird Vibes is a brand new, truly exceptional indie music video program that is stirring massive controversy on the blogosphere due to its exploitation of the alt community for MTV, produced by Shirley Braha of New York Noise fame.
