DREAMS 3.0: ARAABMUZIK // A$AP ROCKY // GRIMES // PICTUREPLANE // WEIRD MAGIC

Friday, November 16th, 2012

I cut this video of Araabmuzik doing his thing at 285 Kent in the summer of 2012. Weird Magic and Distrolord made the night happen, A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ty Beats came through to party, Ian Perlman shot the footage and the rest is history.

Over the summer, Brooklyn’s 285 Kent held one of its wildest parties of the year, bringing in an insane collection of guests. AraabMuzik, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ty Beat$ and Grimes (doing a DJ set) all made the bill at Dreams, an event hosted by Weird Magic and Gustavo Guerra. Luckily for those of us who couldn’t make it out to Williamsburg, we now have some high quality video of the star-studded event. Check out that video up above to see AarabMuzik doing what he does best while the A$APs and Grimes enjoy. – Complex

Aaron Cohen at 350 Broadway

Thursday, October 11th, 2012

A couple of weeks ago Aaron Cohen and the Inner City Kids made it happen in 350 Broadway at one of our lauded in-store performances. Playing in support of his recently released Mishka Records mixtape Murk, the locked-in Cohen churned through highlights from that tape with steely intensity and some guests as well. Even if you weren’t there, you can relive the magic with these videos shot by our friend Matthew Caron. There’s even more awaiting your eyes over at our Vimeo. Enjoy! – Whole Milk

Carrie Wilds at 350 Broadway

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

Despite the surprising and torrential rain, a devoted crowd made their way out to our 350 Broadway location, and the glowing magenta storefront was temporarily transformed into an intimate performance space for the arresting Carrie Wilds. I’m sure you remember Carrie’s self-titled mixtape was recently released on ????? Records, and she was performing her material in front of a live audience for the very first time. After a quick set by Butterz’ Elijah, it was time for Ms. Wilds to take the stage, flanked by her lithe backup dancers. Burning through a collection of highlights from her mixtape, Carrie put the audience under her trance, her powerful vocals reverberating through the small space over pounding beats curated by DJ Shiftee and spun by Elijah. As far as debuts go, it’s hard to ask for more. Check footage from the show above, shot by Matthew Caron and Craig Sordyl, and see pics over at Noisey. – Whole Milk

Dark Sister at 350 Broadway

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

Dark Sister‘s Tiffany and Jessi performed their swagged out set in a supernatural 350 Broadway setting, and now we’ve got real live video of the whole thing shot, directed, and edited by our buddy and go to camera man Matthew Caron. Unsurprisingly, and as you’ll see from the video, Dark Sister made for a insanely enchanting live show. The girls brought it and then some, barreling through the audience with reckless abandon (even pawing at some lucky fellow’s face at one point), conducting ceremonies on the ground, working some impressive choreographed and synchronized dance moves, and dousing the whole scene in a thick melange of trap rap reverb.” – Whole Milk

Children of the Night at 350 Broadway

“Not gonna lie: I’m pretty surprised that 350 Broadway survived that one. We haven’t had an in store performance as rowdy and raucous as the amazing one that Children of the Night put on a few Fridays ago in… forever? Fresh off the release of their stellar mixtape Queens… Revisited, Nasty Nigel, Remy Banks, and Lansky Jones were fired the fuck up and tore that shit down. Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, whatever: this thing was stuffed with homies from every borough, no doubt.” – Whole Milk

Autre Ne Veut, Live On Video

Friday, January 6th, 2012

AVN0web

Autre Ne Veut came to 350 Broadway and threw down a seriously awesome performance. His intense, harried style of R’n’B was perfect for the intimate setting of the store, an effect which was enhanced by the candlelit ambiance of it all. He played songs old and new, including some that haven’t even been released yet.” – Whole Milk

I performed live visuals in collaboration with Eric Drasin on December 16th, 2011 at the Brooklyn Night Bazaar, presented by Brooklyn Vegan. Our pal Zephyr Prusinski operated the camera while Eric and I jammed on visuals. Later, I combined a recording of our output along with audio from the soundboard to create this instant music video of Big Troubles performing “Make It Work”.
